31 new COVID-19 cases; 19 improves more – News Room Guyana

Guyana on Saturday recorded 31 new COVID-19 cases out of 644 tests, taking the overall number of cases to 6, 541.

Another 19 people also recovered from the disease, taking the total number of recoveries to 6,019.

Region Four recorded the majority of new cases with 19, followed closely by Region One with six new cases. Regions Five, Six, Eight and Ten recorded one case each while Region Nine recorded two new cases. Regions Two, Three and Seven reported no new cases.

There are 304 unaccompanied patients at home, 46 in institutional isolation and five patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Disease Hospital.

To date, 167 people have died from the virus in Guyana.
