5 injured after a car crash into a parked truck

In an early morning collision between a car and a truck parked on the Clifton Corentyne Public Road, Berbice has five people injured – three of whom remain in hospital.

The injured individuals have been identified as Neilawghun Subadar, 46; Indranie Permaul, 38; Nankumar Raganandan, 43; Chatenauth Hardat, 40; and Donnaardalran, 43 years old.

According to information received, the HC 4909 motorcar was driven by Subadar with the others as passengers. The accident happened just around 05: 30h on Tuesday.

The car is reportedly heading west along the Clifton Public Road when the said driver lost control and collided with the motor truck parked on the northern grass parapet.

As a result of the collision, the driver and passenger were taken out of the vehicle in a conscious state and transported to Port Mourant Public Hospital by the owner of the truck.

They were examined and Hardat was treated and sent away while Karachayrania was received for observation.

Subadar, Permaul and Raganandan were transferred to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital where they were further treated and admitted at that institution. Permaul suffering from a broken hip, Raganandan head trauma, and Subadar internal injuries. They are all listed as serious.

Investigations are underway.
