A businessman shot La Jalousie at gunpoint

A 32-year-old businessman from La Jalousie, West Coast Demerara was robbed Tuesday night by two unidentified men.

December was robbed of about GY $ 60,000 in cash, a gold ring worth $ 20,000, a mobile phone worth $ 65,000, and a sum of Digicel and GTT phone cards worth $ 15,000.

December in its minimart was located in Cornelia Ida, WCD when the incident happened at about 19: 20hrs.

According to police, the businessman in his shop was “making notes” when he saw two men enter the building. One of them whipped a handgun and ordered him to remain silent while the other bandit released the items.

The two suspects then managed to escape. The victim alleged that one of the suspects fired a shot during an escape.

Investigations are underway.
