Health Minister Dr Frank Anthony revealed on Friday that another 11 dormitory students had tested positive for COVID-19. This is in addition to one teacher and five other support staff.
The total positive now stands at 30 students, 11 teachers and 13 support staff.
“Today we have 30 students who have had a positive experience. We have 11 teachers who have come back to teach and they have tested positive and we have 13 other staff in the dorms who cook etc, ”the Minister shared.
Collaborative efforts between health officials and the Ministry of Education had emerged to test students, teachers and other workers returning to the dormitories. This is because these people come from communities – who had reported spikes of the virus.
On Thursday, a total of 19 students, 10 teachers and eight staff members have been positive. As these individuals remain alone, the testing will continue.
