Berbice hire car driver smashed to his head by girlfriend

A 29-year-old hire car from No. 60 Village, Corentyne, Berbice is currently nursing a cut wound on his head caused by his girlfriend during an argument on Sunday.

The man has been identified as Parmanand Thakur.

Based on information received, Thakur and his girlfriend were at her No. 68 Village home, Corentyne when an argument ensued.

During the argument, the girlfriend reported that she had armed herself with a broken heart and Thakur dealt a single cut to his head, causing him to receive injuries. The man told investigators he then jumped in his motor vehicle and drove to Skeldon Public Hospital where he was treated and sent away.

Checks for the suspect were made at her Village No. 68 home but were not found. Several people in the area were contacted and questioned.

Investigations are ongoing.
