Cornwall, Bonner and Campbell controlled the West Indies – News Room Guyana

The West Indies had their best day on the tour on the second day of their three-day warm-up game against the BCB XI. After bowling out the home team at 160 with the help of the Cornish Rahkeem five-wicket haul, they went on to post a 179-5 steals and take their lead to 276.

Nkrumah Bonner, who had a miserable time like the rest of the batsmen during the ODI series, was unbeaten at 80. He struck out 12 fours in his 131-ball stay, while John Campbell hit nine fours in his 68 off 98 balls.

The pair got together in the first game of their second innings, after Shayne Moseley fell for a duck, and went on to add 130 for the second wicket. Jermaine Blackwood, Kyle Mayers and Kavem Hodge fell cheap but Bonner has Joshua Da Silva for his company when they start the third day.

Saif Hassan was surprising with the ball, rising 2-32, while Khaled Ahmed, Mukidul Islam and Tohwid Hridoy each picked up one wicket each.

Earlier in the day, Cornwall snatched important wicket-taker Mohammad Naim and Yasir Ali. His tour also included Akbar Ali and Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Ahmed.

Left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican took center stage with his three-wicket haul, eliminating Shahadat Hossain, captain Nurul Hasan and Hridoy. Kemar Roach and Alzarri Joesph grabbed the other two wickets.

The BCB XI batting line is considerably strong, so visitors would be quite happy to show them. Their batters, at least Bonner and Campbell, have also had runs under the belt. (ESPNCricinfo)
