Banks DIH has partnered with the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) to provide the Senior Men’s National Team with water and energy drinks as it prepares for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying games in March.
Following the green light from the COVID-19 National Task Force, the home-based Golden Jaguars squad is currently training at the GFF National Training Center in Providence, with a focus on rebuilding fitness following a long period without competitive football.
Banks DIH has contributed a supply of Powerade drinks and Rainforest Waters to support players and staff as part of the national effort to help Guyana achieve its World Cup qualification run this year.
“We know that football is a very important sport for us. This is a pleasure for my company, on behalf of DIH Banks – we want to support this and a partner to continue to see this sport grow. We thank the GFF for reaching out to us and would be happy to support in any way possible to ensure that we go from strength to strength, ”said Colin King, DIH Banks’ Beverage Brand Manager.
King gave the drinks at the GFF headquarters in Campbellville, Georgetown, on Wednesday. GFF Executive Committee member Dion Inniss, Senior Men’s National Team Head Coach Marcio Maximo and GFF Marketing Committee Chair Lisa Ahmad accepted the donation on behalf of the Federation.
“I want to say welcome back to Banks DIH. Banks DIH is a natural partner of the GFF and football. Banks DIH is a national organization that we are all very proud of – it makes a significant contribution to the economy in Guyana, ”said Inniss.
“I would like to see us move on to a very fruitful partnership in the future, like you [King] he said, maybe that’s the start of a long-standing relationship – my hope is that we can confirm the relationship we once had. ”
“We welcome this contribution to the national team,” Inniss continued. “Any success for a national team must involve the corporate sector in collaboration with government and national society, if you are serious about it. Huge resources have to be spent to prepare a national team, especially for a trip like the World Cup qualifiers. We cannot do it alone, so we are very grateful to DIH Banks for this contribution. “
In March, Guyana faces Trinidad and Tobago and the Bahamas in Group F of the first round of the Concacaf qualifying process. The Golden Jaguars will also play Puerto Rico and St. Kitts and Nevis, with only the team finishing at the top of the group advancing to the second round.
