GKMS officials and executives of the various NGOs at the handover ceremony

GraceKennedy Money Services (GKMS Guyana) Limited is helping spread the Christmas cheer through a series of donations to non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
Ruimveldt Child Support Center, Uncle Eddie’s Home Society and Cheshire Home accept gifts of toys, treats, personal care items and porters’ supplies.
On Friday, December 1, GKMS donated toys in support of the Ruimveldt Child Support Center “Toys and Treat Drive” held annually for the disadvantaged children of the Riversview community.
This year’s event was held on Saturday, December 12, and saw around 80 children receiving toys and goods.
In addition, on Friday, December 18, the company donated to Uncle Eddie and Cheshire Home Society. While at Uncle Eddie’s Home, staff presented residents with personal care items and porter supplies.
Over at Cheshire Home, residents were gifted with personal care items and treats.
Troy Williams, GKMS Country Manager, said: “The latest donations follow three similar initiatives by GKMS earlier in 2020 to soften the impact of COVID-19 on the marginalized and vulnerable members of our communities. In a challenging year, GKMS reaffirmed its responsibility as a good corporate citizen, providing much needed support to the communities in which we operate. ”
Earlier in the year, GKMS made donations to Diamond Diagnostic Center, a designated COVID-19 facility, residents of Bless the Children-Guyana Orphanage and Uncle Eddie’s Home Association.
GKMS is committed to ongoing community investment in areas where it can have a positive impact.
