Hemraj is coping with a solo award at US Open T20 – News Room Guyana

Guyanese opener Chandrapaul Hemraj copied the award for the most runs in the recently concluded US T20 Open, collecting 190 runs from four flyovers for Somerset Cavaliers.

The left wing hit two fifties, the highest being 87 off 39 balls against Punjab Blues. Hemraj also hit 16 sixes, the most in the competition, and finished with an average of 63.

His efforts took the Cavaliers to the semi-final, where they eventually lost to second place 22 yards.

Hemraj started the tournament with an equalizer fifty, knocked off 25 balls and took 2-10 as Cavaliers brushed aside Army Sample by nine wickets.

He followed with 43 and 1-17 in the nine-run victory over US All Stars, before firing to 87 in the 120-run victory over Punjab Blues.

Cavaliers won all three games in the preliminary period, before losing the semi-final where Hemraj scored 10.

The tournament was won by the Atlanta Paramveers, who defeated 22 yards from 10 runs in Sunday’s final. All games were played at Central Broward Regional Park.
