Hypertension man found dead on his bed

A 50-year-old man suffering from hypertension was found dead on his bed by neighbors after several calls to his home went unanswered. Deceased is Khemraj Bhim of Coldingen Track “A”, Demerara East Coast (ECD), who was a patient at the Enterprise Health Center, ECD. Hypertension is higher than normal blood pressure. Research shows that the most common causes of hypertension include smoking, obesity or being overweight, diabetes, having a sedentary lifestyle, lack of physical activity, high salt or alcohol intake, high calcium and potassium intake or magnesium deficiency among other issues . Reports indicate that Bhim was found inhumane around 07:05 hours on Thursday after being last seen alive by his neighbor Wednesday afternoon.

The neighbor told investigators that at about 16:00 hrs on Wednesday, Bhim asked him for $ 200 to buy a “weight tablet (s)” and that he had not yet been heard or seen alive. Police said Thursday that people at Bhim’s residence tried to find him and after their calls went unanswered, they went into his home to make sure he was okay. However, upon entering the man’s bedroom, they found him dumb on his bed. Police were summoned and responded and a body check was conducted for marks of violence but they were not found.
Bim was then taken to the Enterprise Health Center where he was seen by a doctor on duty who pronounced him dead. The body was then transferred to Jerrick Funeral Home awaiting autopsy as investigations continue.
