Ministry of Health to vaccinate 40,000 people this week

Radio Kaieteur – The Ministry of Health announced, through a press release yesterday, a significant ramp of COVID-19 vaccination in the coming week, as it intends to give first doses to 40,000 citizens.
He noted that on April 3, 40,468 vaccine doses were given and of that total, 12 second doses were given. Guyana has exceeded 3,000 vaccinations in a day, three times in the past week, with Regions Three, Four and Six having the highest immunization numbers.
With the ramp slated for the coming week, more than 100 fixed vaccination sites will be giving first and second injections, starting tomorrow.
According to the Ministry of Health, teams will administer vaccines in all ten regions of Guyana and encourage everyone aged 40 and over to take advantage of the opportunity to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
“The vaccines are free. The vaccines are effective and safe, ”the Ministry noted.
