Rail system re-established long overdue

Dear Editor,
The recent announcement by the Ministry of Agriculture of plans to implement a rail link to Brazil for freight is an excellent step in the right direction.
This is very good news that will benefit the agricultural and productive sectors of the economy. It will also make it easier to develop inland, as the rail system expands to accommodate tourism and more trade as well.
Congratulations to the President’s Ministry His Excellency Dr Ali on their thoughtfulness and foresight in the development of the country’s transportation network! It is high time to reinvent our nation’s rail system. Advance rail movement has hampered Guyana’s development over the past 50 years. It’s great that our development path will now be put back on track!
