A 65-year-old man from Region Five (Mahaica – Berbice) is Guyana’s latest COVID-19 fatality, taking the total number of deaths to 175, according to the Ministry of Health.
The man died while receiving medical attention at a Government COVID-19 facility.
The Ministry is also appealing to the public to respect the confidentiality of the deceased and his family and to allow them to mourn their tragic loss in peace.
All Guyanese are reminded to observe the COVID-19 EMERGENCY MEASURES protocols (NO. 12), in force until January 31, 2021. This order emphasizes that:
- the need to use a face mask correctly and consistently when leaving your home;
- the importance of maintaining the physical distance six feet from others;
- and the need for good hand hygiene to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
