A 73-year-old man from Region Seven (Cuyuni – Mazaruni) is Guyana’s 251st COVID-19 fatality, the Ministry of Health said this morning.
The elderly man was reported dead on Wednesday while receiving medical care at a COVID-19 facility.
Since then the MOH has expressed its condolences to the family of the deceased and will make every effort to provide all the necessary support during this difficult time to provide any assistance needed.
The Ministry is also appealing to the public to respect the confidentiality of the deceased and his family and to allow them to mourn their tragic loss in peace.
All Guyanese are reminded to observe COVID-19 EMERGENCY protocols
MEASURES (NO.16), which are in effect until April 30, 2021. This order emphasizes, among other things, the need for proper and consistent use of a face mask when leaving your home; the importance of maintaining the physical distance six feet from others; and the need for good hand hygiene to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
