The opposition meets with the US Ambassador

Yesterday Opposition Leader Joseph Harmon along with Alliance for Change Leader Khemraj Ramjattan met with US Ambassador Sarah Ann Lynch and Mr Mark Cullinane’s Deputy Head of Mission, at the Opposition Leader’s Office.

The Leader of the Opposition took the opportunity to congratulate Joseph Biden’s election to the Presidency of the United States of America and recognize Ambassador Lynch as that Ministry’s representative.

The meeting focused on a number of issues, particularly issues relating to governance, parliamentary democracy and national security. The Leader of the Opposition shared the Coalition’s views and observations on these issues, and how they broadly affect the Guyanese people, and, in particular, the impact and impact of APNU + AFC on supporters.

Harmon also asked Ambassador Lynch that the Magistrate be informed of any major changes to the US Policy decisions on Guyana.

In addition, he requested that the Opposition’s views be communicated to Washington on a regular basis, “taking into account the fact that a large part of the local media landscape is of no benefit to the Opposition”.
