Venezuela’s Foreign Minister says to pursue early release of Guyanese crew members

Yesterday the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Honorable Hugh Todd, met with his Venezuelan counterpart Jorge Arreaza, the People’s Power Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Republic of Venezuela to discuss manners for the release of Lady Nayera and ‘ The Wolf Sea. and crew members, detained since Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Port Guiria in Venezuela.

The discussion was warm. The Foreign Ministers exchanged views in the context of the detention of ships and crew.

The Venezuelan Foreign Minister ensured that crew members were treated with the utmost respect for their human rights. At the request of Foreign Minister Todd, Minister Arreaza undertook to pursue their early release.
