Walsh Jr. cleared of COVID-19; to play in Super50 – News Room Guyana

Hayden Walsh Jr. has returned two COVID-19 negative PCR tests and has been released from isolation and cleared for travel. A West Indian leg spinner was diagnosed with the coronavirus before the start of the one-day International Series.

He remained in Dhaka and underwent a period of self-isolation in accordance with medical protocols.

Following his recovery, Walsh made it clear to travel and left Bangladesh on Tuesday with the other members of the ODI squad, following the end of the third and final match.

He will now travel back to Antigua and join the Leeward Hurricane Hurricane squad as they prepare for the start of the CG Insurance Super50 Cup. Leewards play the opening match against Windward Islands Volcanoes at Coolidge Cricket Ground on Sunday, February 7. The tournament runs until Saturday, February 27.

Meanwhile, West Indies is gearing up for the upcoming two-Test series. The first match will be played at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, starting Wednesday, February 3. (CWI)
