GCB wholeheartedly sympathizes with the passing of Reyaz Hussain
Kaieteur News – The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) has joined many in Guyana who have expressed shock and sympathy for the family of the late Reyaz Hussain, who died suddenly on Christmas day. The news of the passing of the popular TV personality, publisher and cricketer left many in utter disbelief.
A few days ago Reyaz had served as Master of Ceremonies (MC) for an event hosted by the GCB. The full text of the message sent by the GCB is as follows:
“It is with great sadness that the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) executives and staff learned of the sudden passing of Reyaz Hussain on Friday 25 December 2020. The late Reyaz Hussain was a popular Public Publisher at Regional and International matches held in Guyana. He sometimes performed the duties of moderator in official functions of the Guyana Cricket Board. Reyad recently moderated the opening ceremony of the LBI flood light facility and portrayed his usual charismatic and wrap-around approach in delivering his presentations.
Reyaz Hussain was a longtime member of Georgetown Cricket Club and Everest Cricket Club. In the pass at Georgetown Cricket Club, Reyaz fulfilled the roles of second division captain and mentor-mentor for young players, while at Everest Cricket Club, Reyaz served as executive member, captain of the Club, as well as fulfilling the role of coach. -mentor for young players.
Apart from taking on club responsibilities, Mr. Hussain was known for his friendly, passionate and professional personality to Public Publishing. Members of local cricket bodies will undoubtedly embrace this integrative and professional social approach.
His passing is a great loss to members of the entire cricket fraternity. It is with a heavy heart that we extend our deepest condolences to his family, clients and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time, as we share their pain and grief. May his soul rest in eternal peace! ”
