Kaieteur News – A 20-year-old man from Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara, is now hospitalized at Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation after being involved in a motor vehicle, car and motorcycle accident on the West Bank of Demerara.
At the hospital is Zebbelon Cadogan, a construction worker, of Lot 85 Middle Street, Pouderoyen. Reports are that the crash happened on Wednesday around 11:40 o’clock. on the Fortuin Wood Public Road featuring a Cogan 6554 motorcycle operated by Cadogan, a GKK 103 motorhome driven by Paris Khemraj, 27, of Fortuin Wood and a PKK 4703 motorcar owned by Bebe Persaud.
Information received revealed that the motorist was heading north along the west side of the road, when the driver alleged that, in the process of turning right on the east side of the road, he had collided with the motorcycle. Based on information received, the motorcyclist collided with the front door of the right hand side of the lift and as a result was ejected from his bicycle and then into the parked car, subsequently falling in. to a nearby drain. Cadogan was raised in a conscious condition and taken to West Demerara Regional Hospital, where he was seen and examined by a doctor who later transferred him to the GPHC where he was admitted. Kaieteur News understands Cadogan was going home on the day of the incident. Speaking to this publication, a relative revealed that Cadogan was in stable condition, but suffered head injuries, a broken face and other body injuries.
Khemraj was taken to La Grange Police Station where he was subjected to two breathing tests, but no traces of alcohol were found. The matter is still under investigation.
