T20 Champions Expression of Interest by teams now open


Kaieteur News – The National Assembly Spokesperson in conjunction with the Guyana Cricket Board and Everest Cricket Club has extended the opportunity for First Division Clubs in Guyana to express their interest in participating in the T / 20 Nationwide Cricket Championship. The games will be governed by the GCB and under T20 rules.
It is proposed that the tournament will consist of at least twenty-four (24) teams, with priority to play in the championship given to clubs on a first come first serve basis. There will be four zones and clubs will draw for the zone.
All first division clubs must be prepared and able to pay the entry fee and manage the logistics associated with their part in the competition. Costumes provided. The entry fee and draft fixtures must be pre-dated and communicated upon receipt of expressions of interest from the identified first division clubs. Club (s) that compete in and withdraw from the same will forfeit their entry fees. Clubs who fail to show up for a fight will be fined a pre-determined fee and investigated for fixtures by a dedicated committee of the GCB.
The first division clubs of this National T / 20 Cricket Competition will be a club with a generally considered domestic first division land and one (club) currently playing or have recently played first division cricket in their Association / Such a Committee or County and / or team that may be considered a CGI franchise, County team or Association / Committee team that can validate the use of home land throughout the tournament.
Attractive Awards are available:
Competition MVP- ALL $ 1,000,000 / or motor car (depending on sponsorship)
First Prize – ALL 1,000,000
Second – ALL 500,000
Third position- $ 200,000
Fourth position – $ 100,000
All Expressions of Interest must be in the top of the club’s letter and addressed to the T / 20 Speakers Championship Chair and e-mailed to: [email protected]
Closing an Expression of Interest will be 9:00 hours or 9 AM (Guyana time calibrated by administrative computer time) on Monday 22 February 2021.
The Championship runs from mid-March with the finals scheduled for May 5.
