Refusing to succumb to the rampant attack on their livelihood by COVID-19 damage members of the Mocha Arcadia Multipurpose Agriculture Co-operative Society are set to stage their second Producer Market Day in two months on Sunday February 21, Chairman of the Raeburn Jones Association told Stabroek Business earlier this week.
Harding to reassure that supervisory input designed to ensure that COVID-19 protocols are strictly enforced, Jones told Stabroek Business that the decision to stage the event at this time was taken against a backdrop what the Association decides is the urgent need to provide a measure of practical material support to the small farmers and agro-processors who continue to experience an increasing financial ‘squeeze’ arising from the constraints set on their ability to market their product. The Producers Day event starts at 6:00 pm. and finish at 17:00 o’clock. and will take place on the open plot of land opposite the ‘Big Tree’ off the access highway.
