Shame, shame and more shame on the shameless senators
DEAR EDITOR,
Shame, shame and more shame on the shameless politicians. The harmful, abominable and contemptible behavior of this parliamentary crop of parliamentarians not only leaves a sour taste in the mouth but also, permeates an unpleasant odor in the air and shadows the very premise they cross. Imagine not only Guyana, but the world at large is exposed to this travesty of holiness. Given that the COVID-19 protocols create the opportunity for more Guyanese to be domesticated in their domicile, the chances are greater that more and more listeners are in the audience than usual. This broadcast was distributed in the public interest for assimilation so that they will be able to see and listen for themselves how the 2021 Budget is being discussed by the government and opposition members of parliament. The electorate would have been able to opine whether or not they had made the right choice to vote for those who represent their rights. Prospective voters would also have been able to determine their future choices. The schoolchildren would have been able to decide whether politics would be a promising career. So sick that they are only too knowledgeable.
But low and behold, the innocent world was ready for this disastrous and deplorable mess, which dramatized the demented and devilish minds of those who pretended to perfect the craft of decency, strength, and honesty. This crop of immature and improper officials certainly, without appropriation or hesitation, hindered any continuation of average display for the preservation of honor and dignity. The abuse in communication was very open, provocative and resistant to spelling lightly but boldly. This foul mess and black hooliganism are unprecedented and clearly overcome the ridiculous obsession of the fish market. This unfortunate unholy isolation is not only inappropriate and unacceptable but also, it is a complete insult to the unforgettable Guyanese intellect having to bear witness to this spectacular and sublime debauchery. One would think that the level of academics employed to transact Guyana’s business is a respected place of parliament (ACCC), equipping them to exercise due care and attention so that their knowledge, expertise and professionalism impress everyone and different things. One would expect that addressing the prefix, “honorable,” distinguishes the dignity of decency and, due respect is given and given to the addressee and it is expected that ‘ he who receives such lordly praise and ladylike must return accordingly. It seems like that is a myth and a mislead with this bunch of missteps abusing the dignitaries and diplomats of diplomacy and excellence.
How can those guilty of this perverse trait go home to face their polite, courteous and elderly parents, or, a civil and duteous wife or husband, or, gracious and obedient children, or, a commendable and respectful neighbor, or, a courteous and kind family member. , or, a loving and supportive friend? How can those reckless and unclean associates of adroit decline, dare to confront reporters, journalists, writers, interviewers and broadcasters to expel immorality, ignorance and impropriety? Did they forget that they were broadcast live and directly and that the public was privileged to their actions and actions, or, that they were unaware of what others think, how they feel and what will be the reaction to such an offensive and sordid liability? Is this what Guyanese have to expect, accept and settle for in the future? How proud are the leaders and managers of these delegates and are they endorsing this exhibition? Do they care about the image being portrayed or welcome the opportunity to depict their true metal? Do the mentors of these scholars indulge in ridicule or applaud the craftsmanship of art?
Monday’s behavior is unjust and reflective, there is no room for excuse and this kind of abusive language is intolerable and must be reprimanded. No Guyanese will support this dirty unpleasantness and disappointed viewers and be shocked that learners have found Guyana’s sons and daughters of earth to be scandalous, humiliating and repressive. This repetitive hatred must be eradicated immediately, sanitized and not stirred or advertised. Such ambiguity and impudence must not be tolerated or endorsed and repentance, repentance and apology will be not only in order but also the least that these lords and women can do to hold their heads high above their necks . Guyanese are confused as to why the Code of Conduct is not adhered to or adhered to. Worse yet, Guyanese is appalled why the Speaker does not establish the rules and regulations and why does he allow this lawless behavior to extend under his watch? There is an urgent need for a Parliamentary Retreat to include an orientation program about Parliamentary Conduct and how parliamentarians must conduct themselves at all times, inside and outside parliament. Perhaps, the University of Guyana and the Guyana Bar Association may come to the rescue. The second day’s sitting failed to provide much relief even after so many articles and reports were printed about the attack on moral upbringing, the portrayal of legitimate language and the difference towards fellow fellows. Further, the Speaker found it appropriate to warn the true media of their accurate reporting rather than warn the parliamentarians of their gross misconduct. This seems to be an accepted norm and such derogatory remarks simply throw water on ducks’ backs. This mishap must be condemned and not excused and it is the legal duty of the Speaker of the House to do his lawful job and to execute and discharge the fines and penalties as required by Parliamentary Procedure. Moral obligation laments this as essentially a standard requirement in the light of abundant blasphemy so that sacrosanctity’s reverence can continue to be observed and maintained. Bishop Edghill and Cheddi Jagan were victims of the wrath of the law and the impropriety of various speakers. Guyanese demand patriotic loyalty and not sporadic distinction over unscrupulous.
Respectfully,
Jai Lall
