Garden City Rotary Club donates garbage bins to PAC

On Friday, the Rotary Club of Garden City (Georgetown) donated trash bins to the Protected Areas Commission and the National Parks Commission.

A statement from the club said Rotarian Erwin Chapman has made it clear that, as the newest Rotary Club in Guyana, his projects and activities will focus on “supporting the environment”.

Denise Fraser, Commissioner for the Protected Areas Commission, and Denise Bentick, Director of the National Parks Commission, expressed their appreciation for receiving the items. It was noted that it is a timely gift and that the containers will be able to support the cleanliness and aesthetics of the environment.

The Commission for Protected Areas (PAC) has a mandate to manage, maintain, promote and expand the national protected areas system in Guyana, and provides support to the urban parks in the city, which the National Parks Commission.
