The Task Force halts GMR and SC activities following breach of agreement

All Guyana Motor Racing and Sport Club (GMR & SC) activities were suspended by the COVID-19 National Task Force on Sunday night until further notice following a breach of contract.

During Sunday’s Drag Race Championship round one of the South Dakota Circuit, over 3000 fans tossed the venue, directly contravening the Task Force and club agreement.

The club received conditional approval from the Task Force to host the event and it was agreed between the bodies that no more than 1,500 people, including participants and spectators, will be allowed access. However, this was not the case as thousands exceeded the agreed attendance, showed up and were allowed to enter the venue. According to the Director of the Task Force, Colonel Nazrul Hussain, the GMR & SC was in breach of the agreement.
