Although the COVID-19 pandemic has devastated Guyana’s tourism industry, this has not diminished the resilience of many business executives who have devised some measures to ensure the survival of their respective enterprises that are more than a little encouraging. Alton and Stephano Primus and their Sky Valley Tours symbolize that spirit of ingenuity and determination that has helped keep the tourism industry alive.
During Mash Week, the Stabroek Business caught up with father and son duo, Alton and Stephano, respectively, at Moco Moco Village in Region Nine, about 14 miles southeast of Lethem as the foothills of the Kanuku Mountains. Just hours before meeting the Primuses, we had boarded a Trans Guyana Airways flight out of Ogle for a flight of just under an hour to Lethem. From there, we drove a half-hour drive to Moco Moco Village to begin our journey to the Falls. Here we were met by the Primuses. The cheerful father and son gave us the warmest welcome.
