West Demerara Softball Cricket Cup on today
Kaieteur News – We Care for Community Services and Promotions and Shiv Gajraj / S & K Construction West Demerara Soft Club’s first Softball Cup set for Zeeburg Sports Club from 09:00 pm today.
According to the organizers, the games from last Saturday were postponed due to the wet field and playground caused by the heavy rain falling over the weekend. They went on to say that a limited number of teams will compete for the honors and the competition will be played under strict covid guidelines and regulations.
The public is advised that spectators are not allowed into the venue, only players and officials. All teams and officers will be given masks and detergents. According to We Care the competition is organized so that young people can get a chance to showcase their talent after a year of no competitive competition.
The one-day knockout tournament is supported by New Level Business Est, RL Sukhram & Sons Sawmill and Lumber Yard, SR Real Estate Investment, West Central Mall, VJ Service Center and Auto Spares, Forrester Business Complex, First Class Laundry Bay, New Lumber Land Yard, R. Ruben Sawmill and Lumber Yard, R2A Construction, Furniture and Upholstery, Phoenix Taxi, Khans Building & Transportation Service, Spring Century Pure Water and Rakesh Singh Service Station.
There will be cash incentives and trophies to be awarded to the winner, runner-up, third place, most valuable player, best bowler and batsman, finalist and striker ‘ r top six in the final.
