Guyana is preparing a third relief shipment for St Vincent

Emergency supplies have been loaded by ship for St. Vincent and the Grenadines – the third shipment Guyana has sent to the affected island in recent days.

Currently, the country is still seeing seismic tremors generated by explosive activity at the La Soufrière volcano, and thousands of residents continue to take refuge in shelters on the safer side of the island.

MV Lady Fazeela, who carries 275 tons of needed food supplies and other articles, is expected to set sail on Tuesday. But first, it will be transporting to Barbados to supply bottled water and tanks, as the country is also facing a multitude of volcanic activities.

On Saturday, the first shipment of 350 tons of items arrived at St Vincent, where Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves praised Guyana as a headstone at CARICOM.

The private sector and civil society donors have played an important role in this sport in providing ongoing support to St Vincent.
