The COVID-19 death toll, this morning, rose to 273 after the Ministry of Health announced the surrender of two other people who tested positive for the virus.
The latest victims have been identified as a 60-year-old man from Region 6 (East Berbice-Corentyne) and a 56-year-old man from Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice).
Both died while being cared for at a medical facility.
The Ministry is also appealing to the public to respect the confidentiality of both deceased and their families and to allow them to mourn their tragic loss in peace.
All Guyanese are reminded to observe the COVID-19 EMERGENCY MEASURES protocols (NO.16), in force until April 30, 2021. This order emphasizes that:
the need to use a face mask correctly and consistently when leaving your home;
the importance of maintaining the physical distance six feet from others;
and the need for good hand hygiene to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
