Linden police are joining relatives at the search party for a missing Linden woman
Kaieteur News – It is now 17 days since Shonnette Dover, 21, disappeared without a trace, leaving her relatives and friends less and less hopeful of her return. Over the weekend, they were joined by the ranks of the Guyana Police Division 10 Police Department, at a search party, where they raided several communities on the Wismar bank. After hours of searching, they came up without a hand. Shonnette was last seen on April 3 after she left home to work at the Country Grill Bar, but she never showed up.

Missing, Shonnette Dover.
The last family member to be last seen was her brother on Mackenzie’s bank, who gave her $ 2,000.00.
Her grandmother, Constance Dover, said she is more concerned despite several published news stories and attempts to contact her, Shonnette has not contacted her family members. He said all they have been receiving is fake news and several blank leads.
“Her brother and father went to Mabura because we hear she was there and when they, another girl, went on their way back empty handed,” said the concerned woman. Several people have also been calling the family with information about her whereabouts, but none have been helpful. They sent persons as far as Lethem, after receiving information that she was there, but upon arrival, she was not.
District 10 Manager Hugh Winter also said the police are following leaders, but none have been successful. “We heard she was in Berbice, when they came up in the house, a different girl,” she told Kaieteur News.
Shonnette’s cousin Esther Dover had said, days before she went missing, that Shonnette had trusted her that she wanted to move out of her boyfriend’s home and move back to her grandmother’s home, because of the issues she had testing them with her partner.
Her boyfriend, Shaquan Allen, had said that he had last seen his girlfriend at home on Saturday morning and that they had no problem. He said he was after breakfast, left to drop crutches for someone who was in an accident. From there, he went to his aunt’s house where he spent time with his family. He then went home where his girlfriend’s little sister transferred to him that Shonnette had left for work. That sister then dropped into another sister’s residence before going to a party in Blueberry Hill with her friends, after which he said he returned home and realized Shonnette wasn’t there. Commander Winter said further questioning is taking place with Allen and he is required to report to the police station each morning.
