

Another person who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has died, taking the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 274.
The latest death is a 52-year-old girl from Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne) who died while being cared for at a medical facility on April 20.
The latest deaths mean that more people died in April than those who died in March 2021 of the virus. The death toll for April to date is 41.
In March 2021, a total of 36 patients died while in October 2020, 44 people died making it the most lethal month for COVID-19 to date.
