Man held at gunpoint, stolen from motorcycle at Eccles stoplight

On Tuesday a 25-year-old man was beaten and robbed of his motorcycle and cash at gunpoint at the traffic light in Eccles, Demerara East Bank (EBD).

Romain Legay of Parfaite Harmonie, West Cost Demerara (WCD) was heading south along Eccles Public Road when he stopped at the traffic lights.

Legay told Police while at the stoplight, he noticed two men on a black and red XR motorcycle approaching him when the cyclist descended a million and began to attack him.

This led to a scuffle and subsequently led to the millionaire cyclist branding a black handgun, which he used to deal with the victim several shots to his face.

The man was then released from his motorcycle worth $ 460,000.

The suspects then made their way in the northerly direction of the East Bank Public Road and repaired their escape.

Legay was later taken to East Ruimveldt Police Station and then escorted to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation to seek medical attention.

No arrest has been made. Police have since said an investigation is under way.
