1 arrested after robbery of a Kaneville bicyclist

A Kaneville resident, Demerara East Bank, was robbed just after midnight Thursday by three men, one of whom was armed with a knife.

Police say three identifiable men were picking Akely Freeman sometime around 00: 30h today.

Two of the criminals searched Freeman for valuables while the third caught him at knife point.

The victim received a fracture to his hand while trying to resist the search. Subsequently, he released $ 240 cash and his black BMX bike worth $ 12,000 before the suspects fled.

According to police, one of the suspects has been arrested and transported to Georgetown Public Hospital where he is under custody receiving medical attention.

His aides have not yet been arrested.

This investigation is ongoing.
