33 new COVID-19 cases were recorded

The Ministry of Health has announced, in January 06, that 33 new cases of COVID-19 take the total confirmed case to 6469 with 167 deaths.

The Ministry dashboard revealed that five people were in COVID-19 ICU, 20 in institutional isolation, 287 on home isolation and eight in institutional quarantine.

Of the 39,892 people tested so far, 3336 men and 3133 women became positive. Currently, 5990 people have improved.

New cases were found in Regions One (Barima-Waini), Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam), = Three (Upper Takutu-Essequibo Upper), Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica), Region Five (Demerara-Mahaica), Region Six (East Berbice) -Corentyne) and Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni).

The cases in Regions Eight (Potaro-Siparuni) and Nine (Upper Takutu-Essequibo Upper) and 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice) continue at 201, 279 and 523 respectively.
