Dear Editor,
As a citizen, I am truly satisfied that the Government has found it appropriate to continue to support families and communities in urgent need as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the now improving economic situation, where there are jobs question.
This $ 25,000 relief couldn’t have come at a better time for my family – when the holidays are made and there’s no penny left, because of how things have been since March 2020. This relief has help me get started my year. It has helped me pay two bills, so I can live throughout this month.
I am grateful to the team who dealt with me professionally. It didn’t matter that I’m not in their favor or from a similar ethnic persuasion. There was a sense of urgency and delight in handing over the cash. This is a good initiative that helps those in need.
We can only imagine what this grant means for the unemployed and poor. The grant must be repeated from some other source, to assist the home with the essentials it needs to look after. Maybe the Government can make it $ 50,000 from the oil money or some other source, next time.

Yours respectfully,
Attiya Baksh
