Police in District Six (East Berbice-Corentyne) are pursuing a Corentyne woman who allegedly cut her boyfriend to the head during an argument late Monday night.
Injured is Parmanand Thakur, 29, taxi driver of No. 60 Village, Corentyne. The incident happened at about 22:30h at the suspect’s No. 68 home, Corentyne’s home.
Thakur told investigators that he had gone to visit his girlfriend, Radika Hardeo, at her home and while there, a dispute ensued.
During the argument, the man said Hardeo had armed himself with a broken heart and dealt with him one cut to his head.
The injured man further told investigators that he then jumped in his motor vehicle and drove to Skeldon Public Hospital, where he received treatment and was sent away.
The matter was reported to Police later that evening, and checks were made on the suspect at her Village No. 68 home, but she was not found.
Investigations are ongoing.
