The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has an open door policy and members of the public are not turned away when visiting to find out the status of criminal matters, according to Communications Officer Liz Rahaman, who says be done to help.
“… You don’t need an appointment to come to these chambers for help,” Rahaman told Stabroek Weekend during a recent interview in his office at the DPP Chambers Eve Leary headquarters. Chambers could see as many as 50 people in any given month seeking assistance on the status of criminal matters.
“Once we can help anyone who walks through that door and we know they are leaving these we are happy. It makes us happy because that’s why we’re here – to serve the people, ”Rahaman said of the chambers, led by CPD Shalimar-Ali-Hack.
