Another Covid-19 death takes a toll to 246

Unfortunately, the Ministry of Health (MOH) reports that someone else who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) died in April 04, 2021. This takes the total deaths from the pandemic to 246.

The latest death is a 73-year-old woman from Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne) who died while being cared for at a medical facility.

The MOH sincerely sympathizes with the deceased’s family and will make every effort to provide all the necessary support during this difficult time to provide any assistance needed.

The Ministry is also appealing to the public to respect the confidentiality of the deceased and his family and to allow them to mourn their tragic loss in peace.

All Guyanese are reminded to observe the COVID-19 EMERGENCY MEASURES protocols (NO.16), in force until April 30, 2021. This order emphasizes that:

 the need to use a face mask correctly and consistently when leaving your home;
 the importance of maintaining the physical distance six feet from others;
 and the need for good hand hygiene to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
