The car that was kidnapped

A 39-year-old taxi driver is now counting his losses after he was robbed by two men he had hired to take them to La Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara (WCD).
Reports are that the incident happened at about 21: 10h on Tuesday in the vicinity of the WBD’s La Parfaite Harmonie Policeman’s Corner
The driver of the taxi, Anna Catherina, WCD, told Police he would normally operate his Toyota Spacio, PNN 2814, in New Road, Vreed-en-Hoop. He contacted him to pick up two masked men opposite West Demerara Regional Hospital, and asked them to be transported to La Parfaite Harmonie. According to Police, when the taxi driver arrived at the destination, one of the men instructed him to stop near a pile of sand, and the suspect in the front seat of the car left. The other suspect, who was in the back seat of the car, put his neck in a sub-grip and fitted a gun to his neck. The driver was ordered to remain silent while the other suspect who had left the car pointed another gun at him and searched for valuables.
Narine was robbed of his Toyota Spacio car which cost just over $ 1.4M, plus one gold wedding band worth $ 75,000, his Samsung Galaxy cellular phone valued at $ 86,000 and $ 10,000 in cash. He was left stranded, but got up and became alarmed and subsequently reported the matter to the Police. An investigation has been launched. (G9)
