Bars allowed to open at 40% capacity; remains of curfew – News Room Guyana

The Government of Guyana has extended the COVID-19 measures for February, which means restrictions against social activities remain in place and the 10:30 pm to 4am curfew is still in effect.

In the updated measures published in the official Gazette on Friday, the restriction on bars was lifted and is now reopening between 4am and 9:30 pm.

The same applies for indoor and outdoor dining in restaurants. Indoor dining is limited to 40% of the building’s capacity, and tables are set six feet apart.

The new measures also outline that no more than four people should sit on one table.

In the meantime, no recreational activities are permitted on any river, inlet, beach or swimming pools. The restriction on private parties and social activities has also been extended and cinemas remain closed.

The updated measures did not specify whether nightclubs are being reopened.

Social isolation, hand washing and wearing masks remain compulsory.
