Charlestown man executed on Drysdale Street
– allegedly begged for life before being hit with bullets
Kaieteur News – An elderly woman was disturbed last night by the sound of gun shooting. A little later she discovered that her grandson had been executed by gunmen on Drysdale Street, Charlestown, Georgetown.

The man killed has been identified as Odingo Anthony Yearwood, 25, also known as “Dingo” from Charlestown. Yearwood’s gun was lowered sometime after 20:00 hours.
When Kaieteur News arrived on the scene, his body, covered in brown cloth, was still lying on the street in a pool of blood, close to home. Three obsolete shells were found near the body and a trail of even more obsolete shells can be seen leading to the victim’s bike found in an alley near his home.
His grandmother said he had gone home earlier that night but received a phone call shortly thereafter and went out.
The woman said he didn’t tell her where he was going. Apparently he locked his door and the grandmother went to bed.
A little later her grandmother said she heard “pie, pie, pie, pie (shotgun noise).” When she came outside to investigate, the woman said Yearwood was “lying on the road bleeding from gunshot wounds.”
Another family member who had seen Yearwood live, said she had seen him riding home on his bike just minutes before he was sewn down.
An eyewitness was involved in assaulting Yearwood in an alley that led to his yard. That person recalled having a heated conversation with an individual.
Kaieteur News understands that Yearwood’s last words before gunshots sang were, “Ow budday and know yuh, don’t shoot meh.”
Yearwood allegedly started in an attempt to escape his running killer but the man fired a shotgun, firing more shots at him in the process.
Some of those bullets struck Yearwood and eventually caused him to fall on Drysdale Street.
Another individual, who also claims to be an eyewitness, has alleged that a second gunman intercepted Yearwood while running. That gunman also fired some shots at Yearwood, the eyewitness said.
Police are investigating the matter.
