Drugs, counterfeit money discovered during Police raids

Guyana Police (GPF) and Guyana Prison Service (GPS) ranks on Monday and Tuesday uncovered a quantity of marijuana, cannabis plants and counterfeit money at New Amsterdam Prison; and in Plaisance, East Coast Demerara (ECD) and Lower Kabura, Moruca, Northwest Region, Region One (Barima-Waini) during separate raids.
On Monday around 16: 35h, GPS officials conducted a search on the north side of the New Amsterdam Prison compound, and uncovered seven bulky parcels wrapped in yellow plastic containing several cannabis leaves, seeds, and stems.

The items were seized and taken to Sparendaam Police Station, where the cannabis was weighed and counted to 2075 grams.
