Blush Makeup Artistry has been creating flawless faces and the artist behind the statement look is Filisha Singh, who, as it happens, was once an absolute tomboy.
Filisha is the eldest of two children, who grew up in Blankenburg, West Coast Demerara; she has a younger brother. Her mother didn’t care for make-up, so she wasn’t exposed. Most of her free time was spent with her brother and friends riding bikes and climbing trees. Many years later her interest in make-up was inspired by Bollywood stars but despite being a girl, she didn’t realize they were wearing make-up.
“I liked the way they looked on screen and thought that’s how they looked all the time. I didn’t know there were so many steps in cosmetics for them to look a certain way on television. I’m 35 now and realized they used cosmetics like five years ago, ”laughed Filisha as she shared this.
