Giftland Mall vs. The Mayor and City Council

DEAR EDITOR,

The Gifts Group wants to let the public know that the long contentious tax issue with the Mayor and City Council was finally resolved in Court yesterday.
The Chief Justice, Madame Roxanne George, has ruled on all points in this case and found in our favor that the Mayor and City Council had acted unlawfully in the matter against the Giftland Mall, and that Giftland does not currently owe any taxes. Mall for the City.
Giftland and Roy Beepat have been fully justified against the damage done by the terrible slander voiced by the Mayor and his cohorts, and we have stood up against the most outspoken and savage attacks on our reputation. The public can now judge for themselves the untruths and misinformation spread by the Mayor. For someone with a spiritual background, he should have known that the truth was eventually coming to light, and his lies and deceit would eventually see the light of day. At last he has been open about what he is.
There have been many who have supported our position and this has been fully deported in the Courts. Giftland, represented by Senior Timothy Jonas, fought valiantly against M&CC Solicitors and RE Chambers. To our fans thank you. For those who have been misled by tribal politics, we forgive you.
Being a responsible corporate entity, Giftland will offer the M&CC an olive branch to find a way to work together recognizing that the country cannot run without taxes. Despite its malicious attack on our reputation, we remain here to serve all Guyanese people with the highest possible standards and look forward to your continued support.

With Regards,
Roy Beepat
Chairman
Gift Group
