Govt opens the online scholarship application process

The Education and Public Service Ministries have begun to receive applications for the award of scholarships in a variety of disciplines.

This is in line with President Dr Irfaan Ali’s commitment and the People’s Progressive Party in its manifesto leading up to the election to award 20,000 scholarships for online courses.

The Ministry of Education says it is working on implementing the Guyana Online Learning Academy (GOAL), which will house this program, in the first half of 2021. This program is for Guyanese across all communities in each region and shall be accessible accordingly. .

The Ministry of Education is responsible for managing the academic and technical aspects of the program while the Ministry of Public Services awards the scholarships.
