Griffith returns a positive COVID-19 test; disregard Super50 – Guyana Newsroom

Guyana Jaguars opening batsman Trevon Griffith has tested positive for the coronavirus, thus making him unavailable for the upcoming Regional Super50.

The left-hander was named in the 15-man Guyana Jaguars squad, released last week, and also participated in the three practice matches thereafter.

Sports Newsroom he confirmed that wicket keeper / batsman Kemol Savory was named after Griffith.

Guyana Jaguars players will be doing a second and final test later this week before departing for Antigua on Saturday.

Upon arrival in Antigua, the Jaguars will be allowed to isolate a two-day room, after which they will do a third test on Feb. 2 and a fourth test on Feb. 6, where players will be allowed to practice as a group.

The CG Insurance Super50 Cup will be held February 7-27 in Antigua.
