Guyana records 250th COVID-19 related death

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has reported that April Guyana, on April 6, 2021, recorded its 250th COVID-19 related death.

The latest death is a 57-year-old woman from Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica) who died while being cared for in a medical facility.

The MOH sincerely sympathizes with the deceased’s family and will make every effort to provide all the necessary support during this difficult time to provide any assistance needed.

The Ministry is also appealing to the public to respect the confidentiality of the deceased and his family and to allow them to mourn their tragic loss in peace.

All Guyanese are reminded to observe the COVID-19 EMERGENCY MEASURES protocols (NO.16), in force until April 30, 2021. This order emphasizes that:

the need to use a face mask correctly and consistently when leaving your home;

the importance of maintaining the physical distance six feet from others;

and the need for good hand hygiene to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
