Halendino Sports to conduct Trials

Kaieteur News – Halendino Sports Company in association with West Indies Sports Complex, Phillips Boxes, Sparta, Jaf’s Enterprise, Queen’s Kitchen, Tobin’s Auto Works, Blades Bodywork, Ray’s Electrical, Fabulous Homes, Jamrock Café, Jamal, Hotspot boys, Cream Team, Will MS Embroidery, Demerara Mutal Life Insurance, Boujee Boutique, KMPA Sports, Diamond Hotel & Sports Bar and Noami Grocies are holding their first set of trials next Saturday and Sunday.
The trials are being conducted on a number of grounds including Police Progressive Youth Club (PPYC) land, Guyana Defense Force (GDF) land, South Ruimveldt land, Agricola Community Playground, Sophia Demonstration Center, Camptown grounds, Nursery and Guide Women of East Ruimveldt.
The trials are being conducted by the Halendino Sports Company in conjunction with the above companies who will sponsor the promising athletes and trials start at 09: 00hrs sharp daily.
The sports disciplines that the athletes will be testing for sponsorship are Basketball, Cricket and Football and there is no fee for any sports player who wants to try it out.
The best athletes will be determined by a points system. For example, basketball players get five tests. The first test will be a sprint, followed by a free throw, a three and a half point court.
Successful / sponsored athletes will now receive at least $ 3500 per game, while some athletes will be able to secure larger packages.
In an invited comment with this announcement, Khalifa Hale, founder of Halendino Sports Company, noted that the areas for trials will pay close attention to covid-19 regulations. One person will be trialled at a time in a controlled environment and each participant will have a set time that they will need to attend on the ground for their trial.

The Halendino sports initiative was supported by the Guyana Government through several ministries and agencies including the Health Ministries; Culture, Youth and Sport, Amerindian Affairs, Home Affairs, Human Services and Social Security; Education and Tourism and Commerce. In addition, the initiative is supported by the GDF and Guyana Police.
