Harmon closes door to commitment on oil press conference

Leader of the Opposition, Joseph Harmon.
Kaieteur News – Four months later, Opposition Leader Joseph Harmon has closed the doors on the oil and gas-specific press conference that promised to address the questionable Kaieteur and Canje Oil Blocks awards, among other issues involved in the sector.
Yesterday Kaieteur News asked about Harmon during a press briefing, which would follow up on his promise. But according to the OL, the question was “recurring.”
“I think this is what you call a recurring decimal. I have addressed this issue to Kaieteur News on more than one occasion. In fact before, on December 31, I noted that former Minister David Patterson will go on the Kaieteur Radio and explain the situation. He did that and I think he did an excellent job explaining our position. And that continues to be our site, ”he replied.
However, it should be noted to the reader that the forum that Patterson attended was a gas-specific discussion and did not touch on issues relevant to the Kaieteur and Canje Block donations.
In addition, it should also be noted that, although Harmon scoffed at the idea of the press conference, he had stated at other times that he was “forming his team” for the same thing.
It was back on Oct. 2, that Harmon told Kaieteur News reporters that he would be holding a press conference dedicated to answering sector-related questions. This was after weeks of producing articles on the dubious judgments of the two assets signed by the Donald Ramotar administration.
“We will have a dedicated press conference on oil and gas,” he said, “at which point the question will be answered once it is asked.”
Then at another press conference on Oct. 20, Harmon noted that he relied on information from Kaieteur News to act on Kaieteur / Canje Oil Blocks donations. He made other promises to hold the press conference, but they all remain unfulfilled.
