Kaieteur News – As investigations intensify over Vanessa Lewis’ property that went missing after she was moved to Georgetown Public Hospital, a regional District 6 health officer claims the phone was transferred to the deceased’s sister. However, relatives deny receiving any phone from the RHO. In fact, Joseph Lewis, uncle to Vanessa, has revealed that a voice recording of Dr. Vishalya Sharma, RHO District Six tells someone on her cellphone to put the phone in his drawer at the office and still claims to have been transferred to police by a relative. After not giving them the phone the relatives went ahead and filed a report at Central Police Station last week.

Lewis told Kaieteur News that they have not yet been given a phone and are confused as to why the health officer would inform the police that the phone was given to them.

“They said they gave their sister the phone on the Friday but that’s not true,” said Lewis.

Claris Cecil Lewis, the sister, had told this publication that the RHO had visited them sometime last week and when she inquired about the phone, told them she had forgotten it. The very next day, they contacted Regional Chairman David Armogan and her and were told the phone was not located. During the RHO visit to their home in Williamsburg last week, relatives recorded that she was talking to an officer from the hospital and told them to put the phone in his drawer and so they now question whether a suspect was found. the phone was in fact or was they told about that.

Claris had also told Kaieteur News that after officers did not find the phone, the RHO had called and offered to buy a phone for $ 100,000 but the non-phone relatives stressed but about what’s in the phone that Vanessa had that could possibly provide answers in connection with her death.

The region’s Manager-in-Charge, Jairam Ramlakhan, confirmed that an investigation was ongoing and that they were looking at the laws in relation to the property of missing hospital patients.

The family is expected to engage with Home Affairs Minister Robeson Benn on the matter.

Relatives became interested in the phone after they learned he may have information about who contributed to her death and why. It was revealed that a nurse who had attended her during her delivery at New Amsterdam Hospital had exchanged vows with her on social media and with her husband’s brother in the past.

Joseph Lewis also revealed that they had received information from a medical professional about who performed the surgery on Vanessa.

“The doctor said the nurse had done the C-section and they called her at 1:00 am but when she got there she was already in critical condition but we are now wondering if she was critical then and they knew they have no blood or oxygen why not transfer it immediately? Why wait to transfer it? ”

Sahadeo and her newborn daughter were laid to rest Sunday at Rose Hall Cemetery with only Dr. Veersammy Ramayya from the public health sector in attendance – none from the Ministry of Health or the Regional Health Services attended.
