GAPLF National Novice / Junior Championships and Qualifiers
By Timothy Jaikarran
If Carlos “The Show Stopper” Peterson-Griffith is not at the Guyana Amateur Powerlifting Federation National Championships and Qualifiers – where even the beginners and junior section would be present to demonstrate their resilience and vitality – then I dare say no do the fans need to bother themselves. to look at that case.

A “show of strength competition” is not such a competition without the presence of “strong” Carlos. When it hits the scene, competitors find that their task has been cut out for them, as records are broken and a serious test of strength goes on.
This Sunday, April 25th 2021, Peterson-Griffith will compete in the Guyana Amateur Powerlifting Championships (GAPLF’s), National Novice / Junior Championships and Qualifiers at Saint Stanislaus College on Brickdam, Georgetown.
Speaking to this announcement, Peterson-Griffith shared that it costs action as the competition nears. Asked what it feels like to buckle after a long time away from the competition, Peterson-Griffith said, “Getting back in the competition? Ever since I knew myself in the sport of strength and power, I’ve been competing with the guy in the mirror! However, from then to now (during and after the suspension), I’ve been working and training as hard as ever … not only for local competition, but more so for the Championships International!
“The way to become a world champion is not that easy, because there are quite a few other athletes on the international podium who are pursuing the same goal. For the past year, I managed to improve at least 15% of my previous scores / records, and focus on a bigger place at the World Championships.
“My main goal is to become a World Champion. Nevertheless, I am grateful for the opportunity once again to continue lifting the Golden Arrowhead up high. ”
The “Show Stopper” explained that his main focus at present is to set total and / or qualify for international meetings / championships, and then focus on world squat, deadlift and total minutes, which are as follows: Squat = 331.5kg, Deadlift = 372.5kg and Total = 853.5kg.
Peterson-Griffith has said that it is his belief that through hard work, blood, sweat, tears, passion, patience, perseverance, consistency and more importantly time, sacrifice, determination, commitment and DISCIPLINE, he would become a powerlifter good and great athlete.
He has also maintained his deep gratitude to Almighty God for bringing him this far. Furthermore, he is grateful to everyone who has supported him in his journey.
“Thanks to Fitness Express, SDB APPAREL, Jamie McDonald, Mon Repos Mall / Fitness Gym, Uncle Budraj (Buddy) Big John Edwards, Julio Sinclair, and many others who have supported, encouraged, encouraged and more so talked some sense in me every now and then.
“Special thanks to the COVID Task Force for approving this event, and to the Federation for pushing to get things going,” he declared.
The competition will be streamed live to the virtual audience.
